Could it be? Has the Halo drought finally begun to end? After more than a year since the last piece of officially released Halo Infinite content, a short audio teaser dropped on Twitter and Youtube. Although it was only one minute long, it finally gave Halo fans something to talk about. It’s quite the exciting teaser, so without further ado, let’s jump in!

The teaser begins with an anomalous intercepted transmission. As indicated by the UNSC logo on the right, we are witnessing this transmission from some UNSC terminal, evidently one that has seen some damage.

“The hour approaches. Our forces occupy the ring. Within hours it will be under our control.”
The voice speaking sounds quite like a Brute. He mentions a move to control a “ring,” which is clearly referring to a Halo ring. We don’t yet know whether the ring described is Installation 07 (Zeta Halo) or Installation 09 (Alpha Halo replacement from Halo Wars 2). I think it is most likely Zeta Halo, specifically prior to the Discover Hope trailer from E3 2019.

“Humanity will burn. Their brazen defiance will be all but a memory.”
The speaker and those with him are vehemently opposed to humanity because of their “brazen defiance.” It seems humanity may not have been too happy with the Banished goal of galactic domination.

“No more Prophets. No more lies. We stand together. Brothers to the end.”
This group has decided to cast away the influence of the prophets, which sounds quite a bit like the Banished. Indeed, the color of the screen for the transmission is also the Banished crimson...

“We are his will. We are his legacy. We are The Banished.”
And there it is. Official confirmation that the Banished are going to be a major force in Halo Infinite. This news is very exciting, as the Banished were an excellent and formidable foe in Halo Wars 2. It will be cool to see them in Halo Infinite as a significant enemy.
Summary
The teaser was short, but there was some good stuff in here. Here’s a brief review of everything we learned.
The Banished will be in Halo Infinite!
The Banished are stationed and invading a Halo ring, perhaps alluding to the events prior to the Discover Hope trailer.
Humanity has stood against the Banished at some point (possibly referring to Halo Wars 2).
